Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Launches New Micro-Credential Training to Strengthen Hospitality Workforce Capability

Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ is pleased to announce that it has secured funding through the Queensland Government’s Micro-Credentialing Program to develop and deliver three industry-focused training programs designed to strengthen compliance, workforce capability and risk management across Queensland’s hospitality industry.

And the courses are FREE for Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Members!

Funded by the Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET), the Queensland Hospitality Workforce Compliance Accelerator project will run from 1 June 2026 to 31 May 2027.

The initiative aims to equip hospitality employees, supervisors, venue managers and business owners with practical knowledge and skills to navigate the increasingly complex regulatory and operational requirements of the industry.

Three Industry-Focused Micro-Credentials

As part of the project, Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ has developed three micro-credentials addressing key areas of compliance and workforce development.

  1. Know Your Award – Hospitality Wage and Rostering Compliance

Designed for approved personnel, this training focuses on understanding and applying the requirements of the relevant hospitality industry awards. Participants will develop their knowledge of award interpretation, wage compliance, rostering obligations, payroll requirements and broader employer responsibilities.

  1. Preventing Sexual Harassment, Bullying and Discrimination

Creating safe and respectful workplaces is an essential responsibility for all hospitality employers. This micro-credential will focus on identifying, preventing and responding to inappropriate workplace behaviours, including sexual harassment, bullying and discrimination.

  1. Risk Assessment Management Plan – A Deep Dive

This training will provide an in-depth examination of risk management obligations within licensed hospitality venues. Participants will explore key requirements under Queensland’s liquor licensing legislation, including regulatory compliance, venue risk assessments and the implementation of effective operational compliance systems.

The training is intended to support a broad range of industry participants, from those entering the hospitality workforce through to experienced employees, supervisors, managers and business owners looking to strengthen their knowledge and skills.

Participants who successfully complete the training will receive a certificate and portable digital recognition of their achievement, supporting ongoing professional development within the industry.
